After all, who won’t get inspired working for and with honest people? With this principle, PuzzleBox BPO, Inc. put up a simple honesty store, while unknowingly reaping the benefits that come with it!

The idea of honesty store has been around for quite some time and has been a great practice of successful companies, and even some countries! As a matter of fact, Indonesia launched a long-running anticorruption campaign by opening up a cashier-free “honesty cafes” across the country in 2009. So, to set the stage for an honest workplace, PuzzleBox BPO, Inc. launched HONESTore in the last quarter of 2017.

Here’s how the HONESTore works: an employee picks a product he wants to avail, checks its price on the pricelist, and deposits money in the box. Since there’s no one manning the store, the employee must leave the exact amount. (Some are generous and leave their change behind!) Employees can choose from a variety of goods like instant noodles, biscuits, coffee, canned goods, and candies.

And while instilling values surely doesn’t happen overnight, simple things like setting up an honesty store can surely motivate people to see themselves and others in a better light.
